Regional Colloquia on Civic Engagement
and Graduate Study at Research Universities Hosted by UCLA
On Monday, April 23, 2007, UCLA hosted the 2007
Regional Colloquia on Civic Engagement and Graduate Study at Research Universities.
The day-long gathering attracted faculty, staff and graduate students from
leading universities throughout California who are engaged in service-learning,
community based participatory research, and community-university partnerships.
The goal of the event was to build a sense of community among those who
are working in this field.
Among the presentations was a discourse on "Renewing
the Civic Mission of Graduate and
Professional Education" by Stanford
scholar Timothy Stanton.
