Building Entrepreneurial Competence

Abstract:
NAWBO-LA Enterprise Institute's project, "Building Entrepreneurial Competence," is conducted in collaboration with the Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at The Anderson School at UCLA. The project will enable NAWBO-LA Enterprise Institute to more effectively deliver entrepreneurial education and resources to small business owners - with particular focus on women entrepreneurs - throughout Los Angeles County.
The following deliverables will be provided to small business owners in the Los Angeles area. In collaboration with the Price Center, NAWBO-LA Enterprise Institute will provide the following programs to the entrepreneurial community during the 2003-04 program year:
- NAWBO-University: A one-day conference focused on providing business owners with the essential management tools to strengthen their ability to take their businesses to the next level.
- Scholarship Program: Scholarships will be granted to entrepreneurs from disadvantaged backgrounds by the criteria set forth by the Scholarship Committee and disbursed at NAWBO-University.
- "Power to Succeed" Workshops: Educational seminars designed to provide entrepreneurs with follow-up training to NAWBO-University.
- Information Clearinghouse: An on-line information resource center for entrepreneurs.
