South Los Angeles Health Disparity Scorecard

Abstract:
This project will support dissemination and more in-depth analysis of 1-2 research areas of the South LA Health Disparities Scorecard. The scorecard examines 50 measures in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, schools, air quality, housing, health insurance, health access and utilization, and health system capacity as indicators of adult and child health outcomes compared to a healthier community (West LA) and the LA County overall. The current phase of the project will gather policy recommendations from community leaders and policy experts along with decisionmakers and compile with the data into a final report. A website will be created to support dissemination and communication among the organizations advocating for policy. Finally, 1-2 policy briefs will be completed on scorecard topics that need more in-depth research.
